I had a nice walk along the banks of Killhope Burn, and finally got to see Cowhorse Hush.
Heading back downstream, some inquisitive young heifers posed for photos.
I had to take off my boots and roll up the legs of my strides to cross the burn. Immediately a million midges arrived to feast on the only exposed parts of me not protected by Avon 'Skin So Soft' - my calves and feet. Two days on and the itching is driving me crazy.
It's very difficult to photograph one's own lower leg using a DSLR, by the way.
I rounded off an exciting weekend by purchasing a delightful Pyrex 'Briarwood' casserole at a car boot sale for only £1
